The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie 2 Local community Hall in Mpuluzi to render solutions into the community.
SASSA will be rendering solutions for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, and also the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In an announcement, the agency mentioned it can be alarmed in regards to the superior range of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your superior range of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This really is as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area on a daily basis. The service place designed for intervention encounters a large influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes sassa status it tricky for that office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra methods to permit the servicing of all consumers and increase use of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
